Our motto is “Participate and Learn”.  Attending events should be integral to your ongoing technical analysis education.  And don't forget to introduce yourself to fellow CSTA members. Networking and sharing ideas is a big part of all our events.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

Presentations

Formal presentations are held monthly. Usually one hour in length, industry professionals provide us with a market outlook or discuss a trading method. Over the past years, presenters included Ralph Acampora and Rick Bensignor from the US, and from Toronto, Larry Berman and Don Vialoux.

Informal presentations are held by the software group and the model portfolio group. The software group meets the last Wednesday of each month. It is a user group type of event where members take turns preparing and presenting their work. The model portfolio group meets quarterly, following the end of each calendar quarter. We discuss portfolio management issues and to update each other on their respective track records.

Workshops

These are full day sessions.  In the past, we have had formal workshops featuring Dan Gramza and Robert Deel and others.  The software group also has their version of a workshop called a Hands-On Technical Analysis Day. These are informal, drop-in events. Beginner and intermediate technicians wanting to learn about a specific topic are teamed up with and taught by the more advanced technicians.

Annual Conferences

The annual CSTA Toronto Conference is our premier event.  We invite speakers from all over the world to present their research and techniques.

Social

At the end of each year we get together for a wrap-up party at a local restaurant.  This is a time to share your war stories from the past year and to talk about all the great things coming up in the new year.

Other

Forecast Dinners are part social function and part formal presentation.
Top rated market technicians are invited to divulge their long term forecasts. This is also a charity function. Thousands of dollars have been raised over the years for many worthy causes.
